Nature Based Programs
Our facilities open directly onto our Nature-based Playscape, 135 acres of farm, forest, Monocacy Creek Greenway, vegetable garden and woods. Children will be outside exploring the farm, forest and ponds, discovering local plants and trees, and interacting with both our farm animals and native animals including birds, butterflies, frogs and small mammals. Our Nature Playscape provides opportunities for digging, playing in the mud, building with natural materials and creating make believe in the little actors amphitheater. As a part of the Camel’s Hump Farm community, we also interact with environmental experts including educators, artists, the land stewardship team, and naturalist staff.
Camel's Hump Nature Center is open year-round and offers programs for summer camp, after school, Saturdays on the farm, Mom and me, home schoolers and scouts. We design programs appropriate for each group.

Hands-on, experiential learning is the heart of our program. Our curriculum is inspired by nature, the children’s curiosity, and their inclination to learn through play. Young children develop social skills, cognitive abilities, physical strength, and coordination. We support our children in experimenting and learning through trial and error.
Children will have the opportunity to engage in learning through:
